Vin to Yin (Vinyasa to Yin)
This class will begin with a warming and heart-opening yang practice of Vinyasa, allowing prana or energy to begin flowing in the body. The second half of the class will focus on yin poses held longer to stretch the connective tissues, helping us to relax into the deepest layers of the body. Yin yoga invites you to slow down and create space for stillness while nourishing joints, ligaments, tendons, and fascia. This second part of the class will have you on the floor most of the time, using props to create minimal effort while holding poses. Poses are held for 3-5 minutes allowing joints and fascia to release. This style will compliment your Vinyasa practice and will open and release areas in need of more stretching. All levels welcome.

You will flow continuously through strong sequences of traditional Sun Salutations and standing postures, linking breath with movement. This will work towards building strength and endurance as you challenge your edge of balance and flexibility. A strong, continuous practice of at least 6 months is highly recommended.
Restorative yoga invites your body and mind to slow down and open through passive stretching. Slow, deliberate movement, holding some poses for several minutes, heightens our mind-body-breath connection at the foundation of our yoga practice. By relaxing in poses, with the aid of props and without pain or strain, we can achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation. This restorative class is a good complement to an active practice and an excellent antidote to stress and overwhelm. You will leave feeling a deep sense of calm and tranquility to end your week. All are welcome.
